I am very pleased with this result. It started out as an experiment with color grading, which lets you add color individually to the highlights, shadows and midtones of an image. On top of that there's also the gradient layer, where I ended up changing the color grade on the subject to match for a more seamless image. Then there's the rectangle, which meant I delved into the shapes tool in Photoshop for the first time, which worked out exactly how I was hoping. Finally, there's the mountain background layer, which initially proved a bit tricky due to the many options, and trying to find something online that would work for my purposes. In the end, I was able to just use one of my own photos, all the way back from the first ever shoot using a DSLR camera. There's something really satisfying about one of the oldest photos I have on file coming back to help out with one of the most recent.
