This week I went back to a location I had first discovered without a camera, and it seemed like it would make a good spot for something new. Of course, since I do not have a host of models at my beck and call, I had to make due with sticking myself in frame to see if the lighting was gonna work they way I was planning or not. But it will be nice to have some kind of photographic proof that I existed in 2021, since as a photographer I never end up in other peoples' photos.
The final result is pretty much what I imagined when I was mentally composing the shot, so pulling that off is always nice. It took a while to position it correctly, and a while longer to wait for all the pedestrian traffic to abate. It started as an overcast day, which I attributed to being able to get decent detail in shadows and highlights without compositing, though by the time I was leaving it had gotten sunny, so I'm not quite sure where this fit into that timeline. Weather, huh?
